Getting to the Red Bull Ring — GPS, on-ramp, check-in, departure
The geographic “small drawback” (900 m instead of right at the fence) turns into the opposite on the way out: as the campsite closest to the motorway, you get out first.
Drive-in check-in
That's how simple and fast arrival is: show the QR code on your phone at the entrance — and you're checked in and taken straight to your pitch. No getting out, no paperwork, no queuing.

Toll, vignette & route
Getting here from your country
Route, vignette, special-toll tunnels and GO toll for heavy motorhomes — compact, per country of origin. Tap your country.
Getting here from NetherlandsVia Germany (A3/A8) onto the A9 Pyhrn — vignette only at the DE/AT border.
Best route: getting from the Netherlands to the Red Bull Ring
The classic route runs entirely through Germany: from the Randstad/Ruhr area towards Cologne, on via the A3 to Nuremberg, then A9/A93 towards Munich and via the A8/A93 to the Kiefersfelden–Kufstein border crossing. In Austria continue on the A93/A12 and A10, then via the A9 Pyhrn motorway heading south, from the St. Michael junction onto the S36 Murtal expressway to the Zeltweg-Ost exit. Pure driving time from Amsterdam roughly 11–12 hours. Destination GPS: 47.2140879, 14.7775305.
Toll in the Netherlands & the transit country Germany
There is no vignette in the Netherlands; individual tunnels/bridges (e.g. Westerscheldetunnel, Kiltunnel) carry separate tolls but aren't on the route to Spielberg. Germany too is toll-free for cars and motorhomes — there's no car toll there. Only heavy trucks over 7.5 t pay the German distance-based toll (usually not relevant for motorhomes). So your first real toll decision only comes at the German-Austrian border.
Vignette & toll in Austria
On Austria's motorways and expressways — including the A9 Pyhrn and the S36 Murtal expressway up to the Zeltweg-Ost exit — cars and motorhomes up to 3.5 t need a digital motorway vignette. Fully digital, tied to the number plate, no more sticker needed. Prices as of 2026 (please check current rates): 10-day vignette €12.80, 2-month vignette €32.00, annual vignette €106.80. Only the 1-day and the 10-day vignette are valid immediately when bought online — the annual and 2-month vignettes activate online with a delay, so don't buy at the last minute.
Motorhomes over 3.5 t: no vignette, but GO toll
Important for heavy motorhomes: vehicles over 3.5 t technically permissible maximum weight need no vignette, but instead pay the mileage-based GO toll. For this, a GO-Box (electronic toll device) must be fitted in the vehicle before the first motorway entry — available at petrol stations and GO sales points near the border. Cost depending on the number of axles roughly 20–30 cents per motorway kilometre (as of 2026, please check). Since the changeover, the decisive figure is the technically permissible maximum weight, no longer the registered weight — so many “3.5-tonners” fall under the GO toll.
Special toll on the A9 Pyhrn (on top of the vignette)
On the A9 Pyhrn there are two route-toll tunnels payable on top of the vignette: Bosrucktunnel (approx. €7.00 one way, car) and Gleinalmtunnel (approx. €12.00). Anyone driving through both saves with the combined Pyhrn ticket (approx. €15.50). Payable directly at the toll station or digitally in advance (drive through without stopping). All tunnel prices: as of 2025/26, please check current rates. Depending on your approach, further special-toll routes may apply (Tauern, Karawanken, Arlberg) — see the country notes above.
Getting here by rail & air
Rail: from the Netherlands by ICE to Munich, on via Salzburg to Graz or straight towards Upper Styria; the nearest stations are Zeltweg (~3 km) and Knittelfeld (~4 km). Air: Graz (GRZ) is closest, also well reached via Vienna (VIE), Klagenfurt (KLU) and Salzburg — from Graz about an hour by rental car to Spielberg. Amsterdam–Graz is also available seasonally as a direct flight.
Getting here from GermanyCar toll-free at home — vignette + tunnel toll only from the border. Shortest approach.
Best route: getting from Germany to the Red Bull Ring
From the south/south-east it's shortest: via Munich on the A8/A93 to the Kiefersfelden–Kufstein border crossing, in Austria A12/A10 and then A9 Pyhrn motorway south, from the St. Michael junction onto the S36 Murtal expressway to the Zeltweg-Ost exit. From eastern Germany/Berlin alternatively via Nuremberg–Passau and the A8 to Vienna, then S6/S36. Driving time from Munich roughly 3.5 hours, from Berlin 7–8 hours. Destination GPS: 47.2140879, 14.7775305.
Toll in Germany
For cars and motorhomes Germany is completely toll-free — no vignette, no car toll. Only heavy commercial vehicles over 7.5 t pay the distance-based German truck toll, which is generally irrelevant for motorhomes. So your toll only begins at the Austrian border.

Two variants: either via the A12/A10 (Salzburg) and then A9 Pyhrn south, or over the Arlberg towards Innsbruck. Converging, it runs via the A9 Pyhrn and from the St. Michael junction onto the S36 Murtal expressway to the Zeltweg-Ost exit. Driving time from Zurich roughly 7–8 hours.
