Night's rest? Measured. What the sound test during the F1 weekend shows

All around, people party through the night. With us, it stays quiet – and we're not just claiming that, we had it measured: baseline around 47 dB(A), right in the middle of the Formula 1 weekend.

Every campsite near the Ring says they're quiet. We wanted to know for certain – in black and white. So we commissioned objectcheck to conduct an independent sound measurement during the Formula 1 nights at our site.

Not gut feeling, but a standard

Measurements were taken according to ÖNORM S 5004 – the official Austrian standard, not guesswork. Two nights of the race weekend, from 26th to 27th and 27th to 28th June 2026, between 23:00 and 00:30. Exactly when you want to sleep and the speakers are still blasting elsewhere.

And so nobody can say we picked the quietest corner: measurements were taken on the western part of the site – the side closest to all the action. Calibrated equipment, dedicated weather station, several short measurements so nobody gets disturbed.

What it showed

The key figure isn't the loudest spike, but the baseline level (LA,95) – that shows how quiet it actually is most of the time. A single car driving past pulls the average up, but not the baseline.

It sat at around 47 dB(A). What was in the air around midnight – around 54 dB(A) – came from outside: from the Ring, from the event campsites all around with their speakers, from the road and the tens of thousands of people partying around the track. From our site itself? Zero guest or music noise at any measurement time.

What it means for you

Watch the racing, feel the buzz, soak up the atmosphere – and still get some sleep afterwards. Most sites around here are party camps, only a handful actually care about proper night's rest. We're one of them – and now we've got proof. Quiet measured, not claimed.
