You don't need a vehicle of your own to be there for the racing at the Red Bull Ring. The chalets at Schitterhof are made precisely for people who want to arrive without a motorhome or tent — but still stay right on site rather than in some pricey hotel somewhere in the region. Book a chalet, arrive, walk in, done.

What exactly is a chalet, and who is it for?

A chalet is a solid little wooden house made of Swiss stone pine, standing permanently on the grounds. Interior size roughly 2.20×2.80 metres, two bunk beds — so room for up to four people. There's power (230 V / 8 A), plus five Schuko sockets, two USB ports and interior lighting. You can charge your phone, run a small cool box or read by light in the evening.

The chalet is ideal if you're travelling with friends or family and only have a normal car (or come by bus/train altogether). You'll need to bring sleeping bags and mats — there are no mattresses or bed linen. But hey, you know that already from camping. Only here you've got a solid roof over your head, rain or shine.

What's included — and where do I park?

A parking spot is included in the price of the chalet, located about 100 metres away. That means: you park your car there, grab your luggage and walk the few metres to your cabin. No manoeuvring on a cramped grass pitch, no worrying about traction in the rain.

Even better: as a chalet guest you have access to four exclusive VIP bathrooms reserved just for chalet residents. No long queues in the morning, modern fittings with a shower, toilet and washbasin. Your wristband (which you get at check-in) doubles as the key.

How does arrival work without your own vehicle?

By car it's simple: address into the sat nav (Spielbergerstraße 12, 8724 Spielberg), arrive, check in. If you come by bus or train, the bus stop is right in front of the camping area. Knittelfeld station is about 4 km away. During events, shuttles run between the station and the Red Bull Ring — from there it's just a 10–15 minute walk to Schitterhof. Honestly: getting here works really well even without your own motorhome.

For which events can I book the chalet?

Chalets can be booked for all the big events at the Red Bull Ring — Formula 1, MotoGP, DTM and AirPower. Different minimum stays apply depending on the event (three nights for Formula 1, two each for MotoGP, DTM and AirPower). You can see the bookable arrival and departure days right in the calendar — the event week runs from Tuesday to Monday. You can also arrive later than booked, though unused nights are not refunded.

You'll see the current daily price for your chalet in the booking form — transparent, with all options (people, nights). So you know right away what to expect. Kids, by the way, pay no surcharge and, under the age of 15, are also exempt from the local tourist tax. For registration reasons, they still have to be listed.
