From 18 to 20 September 2026 it's on again — MotoGP weekend at the Red Bull Ring. If you want to be right in the middle of it, you'll find everything you need here on booking, getting there and facilities for a relaxed stay at Schitterhof CAMPING WEISS.
From 18 to 20 September 2026 the MotoGP is back at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. For many fans camping is simply part of the deal — anyone who slips out of the tent at dawn and is trackside ten minutes later knows exactly why. Here are all the facts you need for your MotoGP weekend.
Which pitches are there — and which one suits me?
Schitterhof offers five categories, sorted by vehicle length and how much comfort you're after. BASIC (approx. 30 m², gently sloping grass) is meant for a car with a tent, two motorbikes with a tent or a camper up to 6 m — electricity can be added as an option. PREMIUM (approx. 48 m², level, electricity included) suits motorhomes up to 7.5 m. Arriving with a trailer combo or an extra-long motorhome up to 9 m? Then PREMIUM XL (approx. 60 m² / 6×10 m) is the one. For luxury liners up to 12 m there's PREMIUM XXL (approx. 78 m² / 6×13 m) — a prime spot for up to ten people. If you turn up without your own vehicle, book the solid Chalet made of Swiss stone pine with two bunk beds (for up to four people), its own electricity and access to four VIP bathrooms.
Every category with electricity comes with a Schuko connection (230 V / 8 A, CEE 7/3) — it's best to bring a splash-proof extension cable of around 40 m. External generators are not allowed; built-in heaters in the motorhome, on the other hand, are fine. Charging EVs via the pitch connection is prohibited for safety reasons — you'll find public charging points at the RingRast filling station (approx. 500 m away). E-bikes can be charged from the normal sockets without any trouble.
„No blaring party noise, no overcrowded washrooms — this is exactly how camping at the Ring should be.“
How do I book — and what does it cost?
Booking is entirely online: choose your event → category → set people, nights and options → enter your details → pay. You'll see the current daily price for each category right there in the form — all options shown transparently. Once your payment comes through (SEPA, credit card or another method offered in the form), you'll automatically receive a confirmation email with an invoice and your QR code for check-in. Only this confirmation makes the booking binding. Children pay no pitch surcharge and, under the age of 15, are also exempt from the local tourist tax; they still have to be listed for registration purposes. Dogs are free too.
For the MotoGP a minimum stay of two nights applies. Leaving earlier is possible, but unused nights are not refunded. There's no deposit — you pay the full amount when you book. The cancellation terms are fairly tiered: from six months before the event starts you get 100 % back, between two and six months 50 % as cash or a free rebooking as credit, and under two months only a free rebooking. Via "My Booking" you can add people or nights, upgrade to a larger category or submit a cancellation request. Should the organiser postpone the event, your booking automatically moves to the replacement date; in the event of a full cancellation you get everything back. Arrival, check-in and departure — how it works
Schitterhof is at Spielbergerstraße 12 in 8724 Spielberg, around 900 m from the main entrance of the Red Bull Ring (GPS: 47.2140879, 14.7775305). During the MotoGP the access route is signposted with the "black tent on a white background" symbol. If you're travelling by public transport, get off at Knittelfeld station (approx. 4 km) — there's a bus stop right in front of the camping area, and shuttles run to the Ring.
Check-in times are usually 08:00–22:00, extended to 23:00 on the main arrival day (exact times are in your booking confirmation). If you arrive outside these hours, you can stay overnight free of charge in the waiting car park right in front of check-in and check in the next morning from 08:00. At check-in just show your QR code on your phone — you'll then get your wristband, which counts as your access pass for the entire stay and must be worn visibly. Departure on Monday is flexible, ideally by around 13:00. There's a formal check-out only for chalet guests; on the pitches all it takes is a tidily left spot with rubbish bags placed correctly. The nearby S36 (approx. 800 m, Spielberg/Zeltweg Ost junction) keeps departure jam-free — on Monday morning usually no problem at all. In case of rain or mud, a tow vehicle is on standby (+43 670 5090460).
On site: washrooms, food and rules
The central washrooms are modern, separate for women and men, with toilets, showers and washbasins — hot water around the clock (only brief interruptions during cleaning). On event days they're cleaned several times a day. Chalet guests also have access to four exclusive VIP bathrooms. Filling up with fresh water, disposing of grey water and emptying your chemical toilet are all free with us — you'll find the stations in the check-in area. With PREMIUM a private chemical toilet can be added as an option (price in the booking form). Top-quality drinking water is available at the taps by check-in and the sanitary buildings, along with free refill stations for water bottles.
On event days the food outlets open daily from around 07:00–23:00 — breakfast from 07:00, hot meals from 11:00. There are two areas: MATTEO (breakfast, pizza & pasta in the evening) and MAMAS TACOS (tacos, burritos). Vegetarian dishes on request, payment by cash or card. On Fridays and Saturdays the
