Book flexibly: how fair our F1 cancellation terms really are

Plans change – and that's exactly why we've developed fair, staggered cancellation terms. Here's an at-a-glance look at just how much flexibility you have with a Formula 1 booking and which options are open to you.

Anyone booking early for a Formula 1 weekend naturally wants to be sure the booking can be adjusted if needed. That's why our cancellation terms are clearly staggered and as transparent as possible – so you always know exactly where you stand.

How do the staggered cancellation deadlines work?

The rule of thumb is simple: the earlier you cancel, the more you get back. We always count from the start of the event:

6 months or more before the event: You get 100% of the amount you paid back – no questions, no fine print. Perfect for anyone who books very early and wants to keep all their options open.

Between 2 and 6 months before the event: Here you get 50% of the booking amount back as cash. Alternatively – and this is often the better choice – you can opt for a free rebooking as credit. The balance stays yours and you can flexibly put it towards a later event.

Less than 2 months before the event: A cash refund is no longer possible at that point. But we won't leave you hanging: you can rebook once, free of charge, and carry your credit over to another event. That way your booking isn't lost – it simply moves to the next race year.

How do I request a cancellation or rebooking?

It all happens directly online via the "My Booking" section on our website. There you log in with your booking number and email address and can submit a cancellation request. The system immediately shows you which amount is refundable under the current deadline – fully transparent, even before you send the request.

You also have the option to add a short reason (optional, but helpful for us). We review the request and approve it, after which you'll receive a confirmation by email. If you choose the credit option, you get a code that lets you redeem the amount directly with your next booking.

What happens if the event is postponed or cancelled?

Let's be honest: the Red Bull Ring team is professional enough to pull events off even in difficult conditions – but the world can be unpredictable at times. If the organiser postpones an event, your booking automatically moves to the replacement date. You don't have to do a thing; the booking stays valid.

Should the event be cancelled entirely (with no replacement date), you'll get the full booking amount back – no ifs, no buts. Here too: you don't have to apply for anything, we notify all affected guests by email and handle the refund promptly.

Can I change my booking afterwards instead of cancelling?

Absolutely. Via "My Booking" you can make many adjustments yourself: add more people, book extra nights, or upgrade to a larger pitch category (where available). Amounts you've already paid are credited, so you only pay the difference.

Reductions – such as fewer people or a smaller category – aren't directly possible through the online tool, but you can submit a cancellation request via "My Booking" or contact us directly at servus@schitterhof.at. We'll find the best solution together.

By the way, you can add children at any time free of charge – they don't incur any pitch surcharge and only need to be listed for registration purposes. That's easy to do via "My Booking" as well.
