100% Green Electricity at Your Pitch: Clean Power for Your Camper
Your pitch at the Red Bull Ring runs on 100% green electricity. Find out how the sustainable power supply works and what to keep in mind.

Motorsport and sustainability go together better than many people think. Your pitch at the Schitterhof is supplied with 100% green electricity. Here you'll learn how it works and what you need to know about your electrical devices.
We power the entire campsite with electricity from 100% renewable sources. That means: every coffee machine, every fridge and every LED fairy light in your motorhome runs climate-neutral with us. Sounds good – and in practice it works just as smoothly as conventional grid power.
Which pitches have an electricity connection?
In the PREMIUM, PREMIUM XL and PREMIUM XXL categories, as well as in the Chalet, the electricity connection is already included. You check in, plug in your cable, done. In the BASIC category you can add electricity optionally for a surcharge – worth it if you want to use a cool box or heater.
Each connection delivers 230 V at 8 amps, which corresponds to a maximum of around 1.8 kilowatts at the same time. That's easily enough for a fridge, coffee machine, chargers and lighting. Just don't run power guzzlers like fan heaters or kettles at the same time – otherwise the fuse will blow.
Which cable do you need?
Bring a splash-proof cable reel about 40 metres long (at least 25 metres). Schuko connector (Type F, CEE 7/3) – that's the completely standard German/Austrian socket with the two round holes and the metal clips at the top and bottom. Make sure it has IP44 protection and a rubber cable (H07RN-F) with a cross-section of at least 1.5 mm², so the cable is allowed to lie outside even in the rain.
„Always unroll the cable completely – otherwise the coiled reel can overheat.“
Important: always unroll the cable fully during use. A half-coiled reel gets warm, which can become dangerous. And route the cable so that no one trips over it – secure it with cable protectors or cover it if needed.
Travel adapters for international guests
If you're arriving from abroad: the Schuko socket (Type F) is standard in Germany and Austria. The two-pin Europlug (Type C) also fits directly. You'll need an adapter if you're coming from the UK/Ireland (Type G), Switzerland (Type J), Italy (Type L) or from outside Europe. You can find more information about the Schuko socket, for example on Wikipedia (German: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko, English: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schuko).
Can I charge my electric car at the pitch?
No, charging vehicles via the pitch connection is not permitted for safety reasons. The 8 amps are designed only for household appliances, not for the continuous load of an electric car battery. The nearest public charging station is at the RingRast petrol station, about 500 metres away. There you can pay with the usual charging apps (e.g. SMATRICS, EnBW, Shell Recharge).
E-bikes, on the other hand, you can charge without any problem via the normal Schuko socket at your pitch – their batteries draw significantly less power and are no issue.
External generators? Please don't.
Your own generators are not permitted with us. Guaranteed quiet and clean air matter to us – no droning, no diesel smell. You can of course use permanently installed auxiliary heaters or air conditioners in your motorhome; they run off the onboard power or your own system anyway. Everything else – i.e. mobile generators – stays at home.
With 100% green electricity, clear connections and the right preparation, your power supply at the Schitterhof runs completely green and completely reliably. Pack your cable – and look forward to a camping stay where the energy balance adds up too.
