Camping Safely as a Woman at the Red Bull Ring – Tips & Info
Camping solo as a woman at the Red Bull Ring? No problem. Why Schitterhof is the right choice thanks to security, lighting and quiet hours.

Heading to the Grand Prix or MotoGP on your own – and wondering whether camping as a woman is safe? The honest answer: at Schitterhof, it is. Here's why.
Let's be honest: the idea of spending the night alone on a campsite packed with motorsport fans can feel uneasy. Understandable. The good news is that at Schitterhof you can leave that worry behind. Why? Because for over 20 years the work here has been professional – with clear rules, a solid safety concept and a team that knows exactly what it's doing.
Why is Schitterhof safe for women travelling alone?
Three things make the difference: first, a well-lit site where you can reach the sanitary facilities safely even at night. Second, a professional security team that is present around the clock during events – not intrusive, but there when it counts. And third, strict quiet hours from 23:00. No loud party music, no chaos. That's exactly what families, couples and women travelling alone appreciate.
Access to the site works exclusively via your personal wristband, which you receive at check-in. Strangers don't get in. That creates a relaxed atmosphere where no one has to feel uncomfortable.
„I was sceptical at first, but the security and the calm won me over. At night it was bright enough, and I felt safe at all times.“
What if I'm out and about alone at night?
The sanitary facilities are centrally located and well lit at night, too. So you don't have to walk through dark corners. During events, the toilets and showers are cleaned several times a day – morning, midday, evening, and even more often at peak times. Chalet guests have four exclusive VIP bathrooms, accessible only with the Chalet wristband – a step more private, if that matters to you.
If you have an uneasy feeling or need help, the security team is right there on site. In an emergency you can also reach the team by phone at +43 670 5090460.
Which pitch category suits me if I'm travelling alone?
That depends on what you arrive in. If you have a small motorhome or a camper up to 6 m long, the BASIC category (approx. 30 m²) is enough. The pitch is on gently sloping grass, and you can add electricity as an option. For a bit more comfort and a more central location, PREMIUM is the way to go (approx. 48 m², level, electricity included) – ideal for vehicles up to 7.5 m.
If you arrive without your own vehicle, book the Chalet. It's a solid little wooden cabin with two bunk beds (up to 4 people), its own electricity, interior lighting and five Schuko sockets. It comes with an included parking space (approx. 100 m away) and access to the four VIP bathrooms. Sounds comfortable? It is.
Are there safe places to retreat during the day, too?
Yes. The food spots MATTEO (breakfast, pizza & pasta in the evening) and MAMAS TACOS (tacos, burritos) are open on event days from around 07:00–23:00. Perfect when you fancy breakfast in good company or a relaxed coffee. You can pay in cash or by card, with no minimum spend.
And when you need a break in between: quiet hours from 23:00 apply consistently. That means you can count on respectful coexistence during the day too – without party excesses or noise into the early hours.
Sleep quietly, be right in the middle
Secure your pitch — 900 m to the track, quiet hours from 23:00, power from PREMIUM up included.
