MotoGP draws the Harley crowd in their own motorhomes—with the machines on trailers in tow. We'll show you how to park both safely with us, which pitch works and why you should arrive early.

Every year at MotoGP, countless Harley-Davidson baggers roll into the Red Bull Ring—many of them on trailers behind motorhomes. The reason's simple: you want your expensive machine close and secure, still sleep comfortably in your own camper and stay flexible on race day. That's exactly what we've sorted at Schitterhof.

Which pitch suits motorhome + bike trailer?

For the motorhome + motorcycle trailer combo, we recommend PREMIUM category. You get roughly 48 m² of level grass, power included (230 V / 8 A), and it's rated for motorhomes up to 7.5 m. That covers most campervans easily—you've got enough space for your vehicle, set up your awning alongside and park your HD bagger directly at the pitch once you've rolled it off the trailer.

Park the empty motorcycle trailer at an external car park (about 100 m from the pitch, right by check-in). That frees up space at your pitch, and your bikes stay secure with you—not on some random overflow lot. You can add this external parking as an option when booking; it's actually for guests arriving by car who don't need a vehicle at their pitch—but works just as well for your trailer.

Having the bikes right at the pitch just gives me peace of mind as an HD rider—safe, close, under control.

If your rig's significantly longer (e.g. larger motorhome over 7.5 m + long trailer), check out PREMIUM XL (roughly 60 m², up to 9 m vehicle length) or PREMIUM XXL (roughly 78 m², up to 12 m). Power's included there too, and you've got more room to play with.

Arrive Wednesday or Thursday—use the days for Murtal rides

Let's be honest: if you're turning up with a Harley and motorhome, you want more than just race watching. The area around Spielberg is biker heaven—rolling hills, twisty mountain roads and stunning views into the Murtal valley. That's why it's worth arriving Wednesday or Thursday. You get two or three days to explore the region properly before the MotoGP weekend kicks off.

### Ride tip: Gaberl mountain road

A classic route runs from Spielberg via Kleinlobming up to Gaberl (1547 m). The stretch's about 40 km, peppered with lovely bends and offers a stunning view over the Murtal at the top. From there you can continue into the South Styrian hills or loop back via Judenburg—a ride that easily fills half a day. Recommendation: start Thursday morning when traffic's light, treat yourself to a stop at the top (e.g. Almwirtschaft Gaberl) and roll back to Schitterhof at a relaxed pace in the afternoon.

Food, shopping, departure—all sorted

At Schitterhof, food's not an issue. On event days our catering runs daily from roughly 07:00 to 23:00: MATTEO serves breakfast from 07:00 and pizza & pasta in the evening, MAMAS TACOS covers the Mexican side (tacos, burritos). Vegetarian options available on request, you can pay cash or card. Prefer to cook yourself? Friday and Saturday during MotoGP there's a free supermarket shuttle every 30 minutes—leave the motorhome parked and grab fresh ingredients.

For departure: officially you can use the site until Monday midday (around 13:00). Experience shows Schitterhof guests typically roll out about an hour after the race ends on Sunday—well before official clearance time and therefore traffic-free. Want to take it really easy? Just stay until Monday and use the S36 (Spielberg/Zeltweg Ost junction, roughly 800 m away)—it's guaranteed stress-free at that time.

Why Harley riders fit here

Bottom line: you get a level pitch with power (PREMIUM), park your trailer externally, keep your bikes secure with you and can enjoy the twisty mountain roads of Steiermark in peace before the MotoGP weekend. Add decent food, free services (fresh water, grey water, chemical toilet disposal), modern sanitary facilities and guaranteed quiet from 23:00—so you actually get proper rest after a long riding day or race day.
