For MotoGP, the Harley scene likes rolling up in their own motorhomes – with their machines in tow on a trailer. We'll show you how to safely accommodate both with us, which pitch fits, and why you should arrive early.

Every year at MotoGP, countless Harley-Davidson baggers arrive at the Red Bull Ring – many of them on a trailer behind a motorhome. The reason's simple: you want your expensive machine safe and close, still enjoy the comfort of your own camper, and stay flexible on race day. That's exactly what we've got sorted at Schitterhof.

Which pitch suits motorhome + bike trailer?

For the motorhome + motorcycle trailer combo, we recommend the PREMIUM category. You get roughly 48 m² of level grass, power included (230 V / 8 A), and it's designed for motorhomes up to 7.5 m. That'll handle most campervans easily – enough space for your vehicle, room for your awning alongside, and you can park your HD bagger right at the pitch once you've rolled it off the trailer.

You then park the empty motorcycle trailer on an external car park (about 100 m from the pitch, right by the check-in area). That frees up space at your pitch, and your bikes stay secure with you – not on some random collection point. You can add this external car park as an option when booking; it's actually meant for guests arriving by car who don't need a vehicle at the pitch – but works just as well for your trailer.

Having the bikes right at the pitch just gives me that extra peace of mind as an HD rider – safe, close, under control.

If your rig's significantly longer (say, larger motorhome over 7.5 m + long trailer), check out PREMIUM XL (roughly 60 m², up to 9 m vehicle length) or PREMIUM XXL (roughly 78 m², up to 12 m). Power's included there too and you get more breathing room.

Arrive Wednesday or Thursday – use the tours into Murtal

Let's be honest: if you're arriving with a Harley and motorhome, you want more than just watching races. The region around Spielberg is a biker's paradise – gentle hills, twisting mountain roads, and stunning views into Murtal. That's why arriving on Wednesday or Thursday makes sense. You get two or three days to explore the area at your leisure before the MotoGP weekend kicks off.

### Tour tip: Gaberl mountain road

A classic route runs from Spielberg via Kleinlobming up to Gaberl (1547 m). The stretch's about 40 km, packed with nice bends, and offers a brilliant view over Murtal at the summit. From there you can continue into the South Styrian hills or loop back via Judenburg – a ride that easily fills half a day. Recommendation: start Thursday morning when traffic's light, treat yourself to a stop at the top (e.g. Almwirtschaft Gaberl), and roll back to Schitterhof at a relaxed pace in the afternoon.

Food, shopping, departure – all sorted

Food's no issue at Schitterhof. On event days our catering runs daily from roughly 07:00 to 23:00: MATTEO serves breakfast from 07:00 and pizza & pasta in the evening, MAMAS TACOS covers the Mexican side (tacos, burritos) – awarded 3 Falstaff blossoms in 2026. Vegetarian options available on request, you can pay cash or card. Prefer cooking yourself? Fridays and Saturdays during MotoGP there's a free supermarket shuttle running every 30 minutes – leave the motorhome parked and grab fresh ingredients.

For departure: officially you can use the pitch until Monday midday (around 13:00). In practice, Schitterhof guests typically roll out about an hour after the race ends on Sunday – well before the official release and traffic-free. Want to keep it really relaxed? Just stay until Monday and use the S36 (Spielberg/Zeltweg Ost junction, roughly 800 m away) – guaranteed stress-free at that time.
