On 17 September 2025, the "MopedGP of Austria" enters its third year – and you can be part of it. With your moped up to 50cc, a valid MotoGP ticket, and a decent dose of excitement, you'll ride the exact same circuit where the world's motorcycle elite battles for championship points just hours later.

The MopedGP isn't a race in the traditional sense – there are no lap times to beat or podiums to climb. Instead, it celebrates the distinctly Austrian tradition of moped riding. Over the past two years, hundreds of enthusiastic riders have shown just how much fun it is to putter around this legendary track together. Often joining in: actual GP stars who don't want to miss the spectacle.

What do I need to take part in the MopedGP?

Entry couldn't be simpler: bring your moped with up to 50cc displacement (with valid registration, naturally), have the appropriate licence in your pocket, and show your valid MotoGP ticket. That's it – you're in, and you can enjoy the track at your own pace, including famous corners like the Remus, the Schlossgold, or the Rindt. Honestly, where else do you get the chance to ride your trusty machine on a real Grand Prix circuit?

Riding your own moped around the [Red Bull Ring](https://www.redbullring.com/) is priceless – especially knowing that just hours later, the MotoGP elite will be flat out on the same tarmac.

Why Schitterhof works as your camping base

Schitterhof sits just 900 metres from the Red Bull Ring – you're at the entrance in ten minutes on foot. During MopedGP, that's gold: park your moped right at your pitch, stroll over to the circuit, and wander back after the event. No parking stress, no crowds.

You've got six pitch categories to choose from: MINI (20 m² tent pitch without electricity), BASIC (approx. 30 m², optional power), right up to the level PREMIUM pitches (48–78 m², power included) – there's something for every vehicle length. If you're arriving without your own transport, book one of the fixed wooden chalets with dedicated power, four beds, and exclusive VIP bathroom. Exact categories and daily prices are shown directly in the booking form – transparent, no hidden costs.

Arrival, check-in and what to expect

The bookable arrival and departure dates for the MotoGP weekend appear in the calendar (the event week runs from Tuesday to Monday). Check-in is normally open from 08:00 to 22:00, extended to 23:00 on the main arrival day. You simply show the QR code from your confirmation email, get your wristband, and drive straight onto your pitch. If you arrive outside those hours, there's a free waiting car park – then from 08:00 the next morning, you're good to go.

During major events, public roads around Spielberg can face closures and diversions. Access to Schitterhof remains open for booked guests, though – just follow the white signs with the tent symbol.

What else you should know

On site, there's free fresh water daily at the central taps, modern sanitary facilities with hot water around the clock, and catering open roughly 07:00 to 23:00. Breakfast from 07:00, evenings bring pizza, pasta or tacos – so you don't have to cook if you'd rather not. Grilling is allowed, but only with gas or electric; charcoal and open fires are banned.

Power comes included with PREMIUM, PREMIUM XL, PREMIUM XXL and the chalet (230 V / 8 A, Schuko CEE 7/3); for BASIC, you can add it as an option. We recommend a splash-proof extension cable around 40 metres long (minimum 25 m). Own generators aren't permitted – guaranteed quiet matters to us.

Dogs are very welcome and free, but must stay on a lead at all times and not disturb other guests. Quiet time starts at 23:00 – that goes for four-legged friends too. Maximum two animals per pitch, no breed restrictions.

If you have more questions or want to book for a group, check our FAQ or write to us at servus@schitterhof.at. For anyone wanting to dive deeper into MotoGP camping, it's also worth looking at motogpaustria-camping.com – you'll find even more details about the MotoGP weekend there.
