Red Bull Ring MopedGP – Ride Your Moped on the GP Circuit

The "MopedGP of Austria" takes place on the Thursday before the MotoGP race weekend – and you can be part of it. For 2027 it is expected on Thursday 26 August 2027, not yet confirmed – even though the MotoGP weekend (27–29 August) is now fixed. With your moped up to 50 cc, a valid MotoGP ticket and the right dose of anticipation, you ride the very circuit where shortly afterwards the motorcycle world elite fights for championship points.

The MopedGP is not a race in the classic sense – it is not about best lap times or podium places. The typically Austrian tradition of moped riding is what counts. In the previous editions, hundreds of enthusiastic moped fans showed how much fun it is to putter together around the legendary circuit. Often taking part: real world championship stars.

So far taking part has been very simple: a moped up to 50 cc (with a valid inspection sticker), a suitable driving licence and a valid MotoGP ticket. Whether this stays the same in 2027 is not yet decided – check the conditions with the organiser once they are published. Honestly: where else do you get the chance to ride your faithful companion on a real Grand Prix circuit – including famous corners like Remus, Schlossgold or Rindt?

Schitterhof is only about 900 metres from the Red Bull Ring – ten minutes on foot to the entrance. At the MopedGP that is worth gold: you park your moped right at your pitch, stroll over to the track and back again after the event. No parking stress, no crowds.

The pitch categories are MINI (tent pitch without electricity), BASIC, PREMIUM, PREMIUM XL and PREMIUM XXL – there is something for every vehicle length. If you arrive without your own vehicle, check the booking calendar for one of the permanent wooden chalets with their own electricity, four beds and an exclusive VIP bathroom – if still available. For MotoGP the site opens on Wednesday and the last bookable day is Monday – so the MopedGP on Thursday is easy to reach if you arrive on Wednesday. On event days check-in is open daily from 08:00 to 22:00. You simply show the QR code from your confirmation email, get your wristband and drive straight to your pitch. If you arrive later, the night security lets you in – regular check-in is then from 08:00 the next day. If the date changes, your booking moves automatically to the new date – you don't have to do anything.

During the big events there can be closures and diversions on the public roads around Spielberg. For booked guests, access to Schitterhof is always possible – just follow the white signs with the tent symbol.

On site there is breakfast and snacks from 07:00, the hot kitchen runs from 16:00 to 23:00 – so you don't have to cook yourself. Grilling is allowed, but only with gas or electric grills; charcoal, open fires and fire bowls are prohibited.

Electricity is available at all pitches with a connection (230 V / 8 A, approx. 1.8 kW – for a cool box, lighting and small appliances, 100 % green electricity); MINI has no connection. We recommend a splash-proof extension cable of about 40 metres (at least 25 m). Heaters, old refrigerators and charging electric cars are not allowed; own power generators are not allowed either – guaranteed quiet matters to us.

Dogs are warmly welcome and free of charge, but must always be on a lead and must not disturb other guests. Quiet hours apply from 23:00 – for four-legged friends too. Maximum two animals per pitch, no breed restrictions.
