The direct route from the Schitterhof to the Red Bull Ring – just under 900 metres through the Styrian countryside

From the Schitterhof to the main entrance of the Red Bull Ring it's just under 900 metres – roughly a ten-minute walk. In this post you'll find out how long it takes to reach the individual grandstands, services and highlights.

From your pitch it's about 900 metres to the main entrance of the Red Bull Ring – a relaxed walk of around ten minutes. No parking chaos, no queues for the shuttle, just step out and go. On race morning in particular, that's a real advantage.

How far is it to the individual grandstands?

The walking time to the grandstands naturally depends on exactly where your pitch is. As a rule of thumb: from the main entrance you'll reach grandstands T1 to T3 (roughly the start-finish area and first corners) in about 10 to 15 minutes. The middle grandstands T4 to T6 sit a little further out, so you're looking at around 15 to 20 minutes. For the outer grandstands T7 to T9 (Rindt corner, Remus corner) you should allow a good 20 to 30 minutes – depending on how briskly you walk and exactly where you head in.

Honestly: even the furthest grandstand is quicker to reach on foot from the Schitterhof than from the official car park by shuttle. You skip the waiting, the changing over – and have more time for breakfast in the morning.

What else is nearby?

The bus (line connecting towards Knittelfeld) stops right in front of the camping area, in case you arrive without a car or are planning a trip out. Knittelfeld station is about four kilometres away. During Formula 1 and MotoGP a free supermarket shuttle runs on Fridays and Saturdays every 30 minutes – handy when you still need something for the grill or a few drinks.

The RingRast petrol station with a public charging point for EVs is around 500 metres away. You can also quickly grab ice cream, snacks or newspapers there. It's about 600 metres to the centre of Spielberg (with a playground, bakery and small shops) – a short stroll if you fancy getting out for a bit.

Ten minutes on foot, no hunting for a parking spot – it's just relaxed. You get up, drink your coffee and stroll over. Perfect.

What's the walk back after the race like?

After the race everyone naturally heads for the exit at the same time – so it can get a bit crowded. The Schitterhof advantage: you walk the 900 metres back while others are still waiting for shuttles or stuck in the car-park jam. In our guests' experience, Schitterhof visitors are back at their pitch about one hour after the race ends – well before the official release of the car parks.

The nearby S36 slip road Spielberg/Zeltweg Ost (approx. 800 metres) then makes departure on Monday morning completely stress-free. No crowding, no waiting – just set off whenever you're ready.
