Schitterhof Pitch Categories: Which One Fits You?
BASIC, PREMIUM, XL, XXL or Chalet? We show you which pitch category suits your vehicle – transparent, clear, no nonsense.

Which pitch fits your vehicle? At Schitterhof you book by length and needs – from the compact BASIC meadow to the spacious XXL luxury spot. Here's the overview.
Finding the right pitch category at Schitterhof honestly isn't rocket science. It mostly comes down to a single number: the length of your vehicle. On top of that, the question of whether you need electricity, how much space you want around you, and whether you're bringing your own rig at all. There are five categories in total – BASIC, PREMIUM, PREMIUM XL, PREMIUM XXL and the fixed Chalet. Each has its own character, each fits a particular situation.
Which category suits my vehicle?
The rule of thumb is simple: the longer your camper, the bigger the category. BASIC offers around 30 m² on a slightly sloping meadow – meant for small motorhomes up to 6 metres, for car plus tent or two motorbikes with a tent. Electricity can be added here as an option. PREMIUM ups the game: approx. 48 m² on level, well-kept grass, electricity included (230 V / 8 A, Schuko CEE 7/3). The space comfortably fits motorhomes up to 7.5 metres. Central location, sanitary facilities nearby – and if you like, you can add a private toilet for a surcharge.
PREMIUM XL is the choice for longer rigs: approx. 60 m² (6×10 metres), level, with electricity included. Ideal if you're bringing a car plus caravan or manoeuvring an extra-long motorhome up to 9 metres. Up to eight people fit here. PREMIUM XXL, finally, is our largest pitch: approx. 78 m² (6×13 metres), also level and with electricity. Meant for luxury liners and especially long or heavy motorhomes up to 12 metres. Exclusive location near the food outlets and sanitary facilities, up to ten people allowed.
„The rule of thumb is easy: up to 6 m → BASIC, up to 7.5 m → PREMIUM, up to 9 m → XL, up to 12 m → XXL.“
Anyone arriving without their own vehicle books the Chalet: a fixed Swiss stone pine cabin with two bunk beds (for up to four people), interior dimensions approx. 2.20×2.80 metres. Electricity included (230 V / 8 A), five Schuko sockets, two USB ports, interior lighting. Chalet guests have access to four exclusive VIP bathrooms and an included parking space about 100 metres away.
What's really included in the PREMIUM categories?
All PREMIUM variants (PREMIUM, XL, XXL) and the Chalet come with electricity included – 230 V / 8 A via the Schuko socket common in Germany and Austria (Type F, CEE 7/3). That's plenty for a cool box, coffee machine, phone chargers, LED lighting. What you need: a splash-proof extension cable of about 40 metres (at least 25 metres), ideally an IP44-rated outdoor cable reel. Important: always unroll it completely, otherwise the coiled reel can overheat.
With BASIC, electricity is optional – you can add it for a surcharge. The connections are the same as with PREMIUM. If you're arriving from Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy or from outside Europe, you may need a travel adapter to Schuko (Type F). Type C Euro plugs and French Type E plugs fit directly.
How many people are allowed per category – and what do children cost?
BASIC allows up to six people, PREMIUM and PREMIUM XL up to eight, PREMIUM XXL up to ten, the Chalet up to four. Children pay no pitch surcharge – they just have to be listed for registration purposes. Children under 15 are also exempt from the local tourist tax. Dogs, by the way, are free and warmly welcome (leash required, quiet hours from 23:00 apply to animals too).
How does booking work – and what does each pitch cost?
You book directly online: choose the event, select the category, set people and nights, add options (e.g. private toilet, extra nights). The current daily price is shown to you instantly in the booking form – including all selected options. That way the displayed price is always transparent and up to date. After full payment you automatically receive a confirmation e-mail with an invoice and your QR code for check-in. Only then is the booking binding.
Payment is by SEPA transfer, credit card (Visa, Mastercard) or other methods offered in the form. No deposit is required – the booking becomes binding with full payment. If no confirmation arrives within 48 hours, please get in touch at servus@schitterhof.at.
The cancellation terms are fairly tiered: cancel six months or more before the event and you get 100 % back. Between two and six months beforehand there's 50 % money back – or, if you prefer, a free rebooking as credit. Less than two months before the event, no money refund is possible any more, but we offer you a one-time free rebooking as credit. You can cancel via "My Booking" – there you immediately see which amount is refundable.
